ROC AZ is an abbreviation for the Registrar of Contractors in Arizona, which has the mission of protecting health, safety and welfare of the public through a regulatory system for quality construction by the contractors in California. It was established by the Arizona Legislature in 1931 and it licenses and regulates residential and commercial contractors. For becoming a verified contractor in Arizona, firstly, you must be eligible to get the license based on your years of experience and the number of projects you have undertaken. At the beginning, the applicant must fill out the online application and then pass the examination by at least 70% and then submit the results. Then the applicant must first go through a criminal background check. After that, form or register your legal entity at the Arizona Corporation Commission and submit the completed project and experience verification forms. Next, you need to obtain and give the proof of a license bond and pay the fees, followed by the submission of a copy of the government-issued identification with the application by the applicant and the qualifying party in the license application. Lastly, complete and submit the application. On the other hand, homeowners can ask for a hearing if they are not satisfied by your services. The Registrar of Contractors will send the contractor a Citation and Complaint and he must provide a written answer within ten days. If not, a default order will be produced against the contractor. Under such a situation, contractor's license is at stake and ROC complaints enters your record permanently.
